Set, as we are, in the midst of the New Forest, during the summer months the roads around us can get quite busy. For this reason, if you're travelling to us from the South East, we'd advise following this alteration to the Google navigation directions.

Most satellite navigation systems, including Apple Maps and Google Maps will likely suggest you come off the M27 at Junction 1 and head towards Lyndhurst. However, unless you enjoy being stuck in a queue at Lyndhurst for most of the day, ignore the navigation and exit the M27 at J2 for Ower/Totton, and follow the A326 South.

When you see the sign for Southampton/Lyndhurst on the A35, peel off to the left, and taking the right lane, head towards Lyndhurst. By doing this you'll avoid the traffic lights in Lyndhurst which have a habit of making you wait for an eternity.

If you're joining us from the South West, come off the A31 at Picket Post and follow the signs for Burley, then Brockenhurst. You'll no doubt see a few ponies along the way (and cyclists) but it's a relaxed journey, and a scenic one too. Just remember to always stay under 40mph on the open forest as the ponies & cattle like to stand in the road at the most inappropriate places!
